I had the pleasure of seeing it at Grauman's Chinese Theater this weekend, I had no expectations. Everyone was so happy. Everyone laughed. It felt like, 'we're back'.
I agree some parts were clunky, but the vibes were immaculate!
There was going to be a sequel in 97 but they said Wynona was too old. Glad they held out, she's a fine wine.
Winona is enough of a reason for me to go and see it. Loved the first one. I sit and watch it now with my 5 and 6 year olds every few weeks. Keaton is on fire in that movie.
I too love Tim Burton (even if he hasn't made a genuinely good movie since Sweeney Todd), but for whatever reason I just don't give a shit about Beetlejuice.

Yeah, I think she looked great.

Mr. Mom. Michael Keaton’s best early movie, just ahead of Night Shift. The Other Guys. 👍👍👍
I loved it too. The only reason Delores was needed must have been that Tim Burton wanted to parody some old Italian movies.
Your point about characters is well made.
Make Die Hard great again.

Just watched Scissorhands with my kid yesterday, first time in almost 20 years. Still holds up, excellent movie.
