2666 is one of the best books I’ve ever read. But I could not get into The Savage Detectives. I will have to give it another chance. I’ve not yet scratched the surface of Cormac McCarthy, but I will have to do so. I’ve seen references to Solenoid. This review makes me want to read it. I had an Amazon review of 2666, which I was going to clip in here, but I can’t seem to find it. Maybe because I’m doing this on my phone. I will send it to you if I can find it next time I’m at my computer.
Great post. Bought some books today. Thanks for sharing!
What did you pick up?
Solenoid is still on my wish list after your recommendation.
I wonder if you'd enjoy Tito Perdue, I've found his books great.
I'm gonna look into it right now.
"Philip" is my favourite, but "Lee" is his best known and easiest to find.
I also read 2666 this year, and it’s among my favourite books. So, so brilliant!

The Savage Detectives captured a lot of my thoughts and feelings when I was the same age as the characters.
I bought Solenoid.
