Firstly, congratulations on the completion of season 1. Impromptu decision or no, it's an impressive milestone.
This is a fantastic episode to end the season on, too. The discussion held was great, the perfect way to keep my mind well occupied during the tedium of continuing to paint my house. The bonus of having good reading material suggested is also appreciated; I'll be reading "The Sword of Welleran" tonight before I go to bed. Looking forward both to season 2 and the upcoming essays.
33:00-34:00ish. I think we all want to think something grand is coming in our lifetime (eg. Second coming, apocalypse, a great awakening, etc).
Also, a great father wants to throw the proverbial ball with their kid, everywhere in the world. There’s scumbag fathers in America and Europe and Africa and everywhere. But a good father wants the best for their kid. I don’t think that’s uniquely America.
All that said, that’s a wonderful picture that all human families should strive for. As far as awakening, perhaps. We are in an age of unparalleled potential for awakening, despite living in a world of potential soul-smashing.
1. Phisto uses the phrase "reality reasserting itself". I find that amusing because I started using that one on my own years ago and I did not know of anyone else who did.
2. That many hours already!?
3. I still think there would have been some violence or rioting if the election was close. No where near 2020 fun but I've seen some really wound up nuts who think the Fourth Reich is upon us. Right now the scope of the bad orange man's victory seems to have them in a state of shellshock.
4. Whenever Alex brings up Los Angeles or the music scene I get a mental image of him giving Pickles' L. A. tour from Metalocalypse to all the show guests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iiTWZnZnIs
5. You guys really need to play the original Deus Ex. Right now it is less than a buck on GOG.
Pleasure was all mine, friend
No comment on the song title!
HAHA I BEAT YOU
Great podcast. Great conversation to end season one and I look forward to season two. And reading some of your essays.
The VERY BEST thing about The Expanse, and there were many very good things, was the lack of human perfection.

Thank you. Let me know what you think of that story.

Afghanistan such a mess. Taliban training Al Qaeda. Taliban gets $40-$80m/week from us. We are literally paying for Al Qaeda to come back up.
Congrats on 29 episodes and 20 of them uploaded in the last week!
Lol just three!
Just read The sword of Welleran.
Thanks.
A couple of things.

Audiobook’d Sword of Welleran. I’m now aroused. What’s next?
The pleasure was all mine! (And Krolok's.)
Hopefully that take above not a blackpill/Eternal Miserist™️, hating on the Jewish Volcano Demon.
